NASCAR Daytona Early Week Longshot Bets

With the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series being in Daytona this week, it will be an unpredictable race for each Series. Due to this, I like to take shots on some longshot winners at good odds as this will be the week they will have a chance to actually win or get a good finish. There is no practice to wait for this week so the odds out there this week will be close to their final odds for the race.

Cup Series Bets

Justin Haley +7500 (Fanduel)

Erik Jones +4000 (Caesars)

Daniel Hemric top 10 +700 (Bet365)

Haley is 45-1 and 55-1 at other books and you can get him on Fanduel at 75-1. He knows how to run up front at superspeedways and is a solid lottery ticket to have for the race.

Jones is another past winner for this race and he is at 40-1 odds on Caesars. I think that is worth a shot to have that ticket for a team that needs a win for the playoffs

Bet365 has a lot better odds for top 10 finishes than other sites so I like taking some of their top 10 bets. Hemric is a solid choice as he could be conservative to miss the wrecks and the Kaulig cars seems to do well at superspeedways in the past.

I have also taken Parker Retzlaff at +2000 for a top 10 on Bet365 as he is in a beard motorsport car which usually has decent equipment for superspeedway races.

In general I would be ok taking a few drivers bets for whatever your preference is, as long as they are 30-1 odds or more. This is an unpredictable race and picking guys with short odds is not a winning bet to make in this type of race. This is a week to bet small at the sportsbook, but have fun and take some shots on long odds.

Xfinity Series Bets

Anthony Alfredo +4500 (Draftkings)

Kyle Sieg Top 5 +2200 (Caesars)

Alfredo has had some good runs on superspeedways in the past and that team has shown solid speed lately. I think he is going to try to race towards the front and if he can avoid trouble could have a shot at it for a longshot value.

I am hoping top 10 odds come out later in the week, but for now I'll take the longshot top 5 value for Kyle Sieg. I think that team is going to be trying really hard to get Ryan Sieg a win so I would not be surprised to see Kyle Sieg racing harder and towards the front more than in the past to help his brother as much as possible with the draft. That could leave an opening for if things get crazy, Kyle Sieg has an outside chance for a top 5. If odds for top 10 come out later this week, I would be more comfortable with that bet.

  • We are still waiting on odds to be posted by Sportsbooks for the Truck race in Milwaukee.
