Here are some longshot bets that are out there that I think makes sense for both the Cup and Truck Series for this week at Richmond:
Truck Series
Majeski and Eckes are the favorites and should be. Their odds are too short for me to bet so there are a few top 5 bets out there that I like:
Matt Crafton +1200 Top 5 (Draftkings)
Crafton had speed at IRP at the last race and came in 7th at Richmond last year. He should run top 10 and have a chance to get into the top 5 and I think 12-1 is a good value for his potential to get a top 5.
Jake Garcia +900 Top 5 (Draftkings)
Garcia finished 4th last year at Richmond. He is a riskier play but he has had solid speed at short flat style tracks this season.
Cup Series
There are some pole bets that I like for tomorrow on Caesars Sportsbook:
Bubba Wallace +2000 (Caesars)
Wallace has qualified 5th for the last two races at Richmond. Toyotas should be fast so he should make the final round and have a shot at the pole and getting him at 20-1 is good value.
Alex Bowman +1800 (Caesars)
Bowman qualified 4th here in the Spring this year with his Hendrick teammates on the front row. He also got the pole here in the Spring race in 2023. Bowman should be good qualifying again and is a solid value at the 18-1 you can get.
Longshot Parlay:
This is my top driver for each manufacturer parlay that I will be doing weekly:
Martin Truex top Toyota
Josh Berry top Ford
Chase Elliott top Chevy
Parlay odds +14180
Truex and Hamlin is a toss up in my mind to be the favorite Toyota this week but either one should be in contention to win the race. I like Josh Berry as an underdog and I don't think there will be a dominate Ford out there so he has a decent chance to get top Ford. Elliott should be in contention throughout the race, Larson will be the one to beat but i would not be surprised to see Elliott run well and end up as top Chevy. .
