NFL Eagles-Packers Friday Night Showdown DFS Picks - Draftkings Contest

We kick off NFL season with a second game during the week as the Eagles and Packers faceoff in Brazil on Friday night. Draftkings has another big captain showdown contest for the matchup with the NFL $2.25M Friday Night Millionaire [$1M to 1st] Contest. Here are the plays I see for tonight's slate:

Captain Plays

DeVonta Smith

Christian Watson

DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown are both great WRs on the Eagles and both should get a bunch of targets in the game tonight. Smith has had some big games in primetime and he is cheaper than Brown. Smith will have an opportunity for 100+ yds and a TD making him a good captain option over some of the other top options that are priced at the top end of this slate.

The Packers like to spread the ball around and people don't seem to know how to rank their WRs coming into the season. Watson is still their No. 1 WR and should play almost all the snaps for the Packers. However, Draftkings has priced him below Reed and Doubs on this slate. Watson is more likely to be a boom or bust option, but at his salary I think he is a solid captain option tonight and using him there should open up more salary to fit in other top options on the slate.

Flex Plays

Jalen Hurts

Jordan Love

Jaylen Reed

Josh Jacobs

AJ Brown

Dallas Goedert

Hurts and Love are both going to be top options for the game tonight as both teams should throw a good amount and they both have a lot of weapons to throw to. I do prefer Hurts as he has the running upside and goal line QB sneak potential that the Eagles like to run. I don't mind using Hurts as a captain as well if you can afford it in your lineups, but he will be a popular pick.

Reed is the Packers slot WR but they feed him the ball a lot when he is on the field. Him and Watson are my favorite Packer WR options for tonight. Reed will have the opportunity for a TD as well as the Packers like to get the ball in his hands however they can, even behind the line of scrimmage.

Jacobs is the new Packers RB this season and he should handle most of the RB work in this game tonight. He is a solid pass catcher so he should be in play to be in on most passing downs as well so he should be able to get several catches as well. Jacobs is cheaper than Barkley and I think he will have more opportunities with no clear cut RB behind him.

Brown and Goedert are the other two top pass catching options for the Eagles. They both are definitely in play to use in lineups tonight. The only difficulty with Brown is he is the most expensive player on the slate so he must have a good game to pay off his salary. Fitting a combo of Brown and Hurts with other top options like Smith and Love will be difficult so you will have to pick and choose on the strategy you want to use for tonight.

Value Plays

Johan Dotson

Kenneth Gainwell

Kickers

There are very limited cheap options on the slate tonight but we need a few options to fit in some of these other top guys. Dotson is the Eagles new No. 3 WR and should have a chance for a handful of catches. He should be on the field a decent amount and in passing situations so he should get some opportunities to get his value for his salary on this slate.

Gainwell is the Eagles backup RB behind Saquon Barkley but more importantly he is a good pass catcher and the Eagles could use him a decent amount on passing downs. He should have several opportunities to get some catches in this game and if he can rip some fir good gains he could be a solid value play for this game.

I think the Kickers are in play tonight. Since there are so limited cheap options in this slate we may have to use a kicker to get these other top players in our lineups. Both offenses can move the ball so each team should have opportunities in field goal range to get some points.
