The NFL Week 2 comes to a conclusion tonight with the Eagles and Falcons facing off on Monday Night Football. Draftkings has another $1M to 1st contest for the showdown captain slate. The Eagles have their No. 1 WR AJ Brown out tonight so that opens up some opportunities for some more value plays and other Eagles pass catchers.
Captain Options
DeVonta Smith
Drake London
Dallas Goedert
Smith is going to be the Eagles top pass catching option with Brown out. He should get a lot of targets in this game and will have the opportunity for a big game. He is going to be a great option in any spot in your lineup but I like him as a captain option for tonight. Similar to Smith, with Brown being out that should open up more opportunities for Goedert. If the Falcons zero in on Smith to try to shut him down, Goedert could have a big game. Also his salary at captain is a big salary saver and allows you to fit in other top options on the slate.
London is a bit of a risky play on this slate but I don't mind the play at captain to try to differentiate your lineup. We expect him to be good this year with a solid QB throwing him the ball for once, but he did not do much last week as Ray Ray McCleod had a better game than him. Hopefully he can bounce back in this game and the Falcons should have to be aggressive and throw the ball as they are expected to be playing from behind.
Flex Plays
Bijan Robinson
Jalen Hurts
Saquon Barkley
Robinson is one of the top playmakers for the Falcons and is involved in both the running and passing game. If the Falcons get their offense going he should have a lot of opportunities in this game.
Hurts will be one of the top options on the slate as he will have one of the highest ceilings with his rushing ability. The Eagles would really have to struggle for him to not get a good amount of points and be a top play for the slate tonight.
Barkley had a huge game last week and he will look to back it up again this week. I think he will be high owned even though he is the most expensive player on the slate. I don't hate the idea of using others on this slate instead of Barkley but he will have a lot of opportunities.
Value Plays
Jahan Dotson
Ray Ray McCloud
Britain Covey
Dotson will get more opportunities with Brown out and now that he has been with the team for a few weeks now. He will be a popular play this week since he is cheap and will be the Eagles No. 2 WR for this matchup.
McCleod ended up being the best Falcons WR last week. I don't expect that to happen again this week as he is their slot WR, but he should still get some opportunities and I expect the Falcons to need to throw a lot. He is a good value play at his salary.
The Eagles No. 3 WR for the night is up in the air but Covey is the healthiest option. He is only $1600 and should get some usage tonight. I don't have super high hopes as I think the Eagles will mostly use Smith, Goedert, and Dotson but if Covey can get a few catches he will be a solid value. Johnny Wilson could be the other option but I have concerns of him playing as he is questionable and did not practice on Saturday.
