The NASCAR schedule takes us to south Florida for racing in all 3 series at Homestead Miami Speedway. We should see tire be a big factor with weekend and multiple groves on the 1.5 mile track. This track produces some of the best racing on the circuit and I expect to see some good racing in all 3 series this week. We should expect 1-2 dominators this week depending how the race plays out.
Potential Dominators
Kyle Larson
Corey Heim
Ross Chastain
Grant Enfinger
Larson is going to be hard to beat tonight as he comes down from the Cup Series to race in the trucks at one of his best tracks. He is great at Homestead and should be one of the fastest trucks in the race once he gets settled into the truck throughout the race making him a solid contender for the slate. Heim is the top drivers of full time drivers in the Truck series as he seems to be fast everywhere the series goes. I don't expect that to change this season as he should be one of the top contenders again this week and was one of the fastest trucks on the long run in practice. Chastain was 2nd in lap averages in practice from the 5 to 20 lap averages in the sessions. He starts towards the front and should race up there throughout the night. I am not sure if he will lead a bunch of laps but he is surely going to be in the mix for the win. Enfinger won at Homestead last season and had top 5 speed in practice lap averages today. He should run at the front and be one of the main truck regulars that will contend for the win.
Place Differential Plays
Brandon Jones
Ben Rhodes
Matt Crafton
Jones is a good value tonight as he is at $8600 salary and has some place differential points that comes with him starting 11th. He was fastest on the 5-20 lap averages in practice and could have a top 5 run in the race tonight. Rhodes and Crafton have a lot of place differential potential tonight as they start in the mid 20s but they have struggled at homestead in recent races and didn't show a ton of speed in practice. Even with that they are still useable options as there is not a ton of obvious place differential plays at the lower end salary like them. They should have top 15 potential with upside for more in the race.
Cheap Options
Luke Fenhaus
Jack Wood
Spencer Boyd
Fenhaus had solid practice speed and is in good equipment even though he doesn't have the experience that a lot of others do. He starts in 25th so he has a little room to move forward as he should have top 20 potential if he stays out of trouble and he should be a good value play for the race. Wood was another that had good speed in practice and we will see if he can back it up in the race. He starts in 26th so he has some place differential to gain if he can be top 20 at the end of the night with upsude for more. Boyd is the cheap flier play on this slate as they have had some decent results and more speed than some of the other lower end teams. He starts 32nd so if we get a few wrecks tonight he can be a good value and potentially get close to a top 25.
