We are down to the final few races for the NASCAR Truck Series and we are at Martinsville this week for the last race before championship weekend. Martinsville is the shortest track on the circuit and the Trucks raced here earlier this season in April. We do not have much of a battle in the points at the cutoff for this final round so all the drivers below the cut line are most likely going to be in must win mode unless something happens to one of the top playoff drivers earlier in the race.
Potential Dominators
Christian Eckes
Ty Majeski
Eckes won at Martinsville earlier this season in the spring and led the most laps. He is one of the top championship contenders so I don't expect anything different from him there week as he should be running up front and have a chance to lead laps and win this race. He should be one of the top options this week and be a top contender in the race. Majeski was the driver right behind Eckes in the spring in both lap led and in the finish. Majeski has been great at short tracks all season long and he should be good again this week. Both Majeski and Eckes were two of the fastest trucks in practice in lap averages and they both start on the front row. Corey Heim could be another option and there will be some other fast trucks I just don't see any other drivers getting a lot of dominator points over Eckes and Majeski.
Place Differential Plays
Grant Enfinger
Connor Zilisch
Stewart Friesen
Matt Crafton
Enfinger starts way in the back in 33rd so he has huge place differetnial potential. I don't expect him to run at the front this week as he has been locked into the championship and I am sure they have not focused on this week. But he should still run top 15 at a minimum with upside for more. He will be a popular play for this race. Zilisch had good speed in practice but qualified back in 27th. He has a lot of room to move forward and should have top 10 potential for the race if he can stay out of trouble. Friesen is a solid option as starting 20th should give him upside to get a good amount of place differential points. Track position is going to be key for this race so if these drivers can get towards the front they will have a chance for a good finish. Crafton had top 10 speed in practice and the veteran starts back in 16th giving him some place differential upside for the race.
Cheap Options
Chase Purdy
Jake Garcia
Corey Day
Bayley Currey
Purdy is a bit of a risk starting in 8th but he had top 5 speed in practice and finished 3rd here earlier this season. I think he can run top 10 and is a great value play for this week. Day is a bit of a flier play as he didn't have great speed in practice but he starts back in 31st and is in good equipment for the Truck Series so I think he can move forward and be a solid place differential play. Garcia is another that was just ok in practice but he has ran solid here at Martinsville before and starting in the back will give him some room to move forward. Currey is a solid flier play that is a good cheap filler for your lineups that has upside for a good finish.
