Truck Series Phoenix DFS Picks

The NASCAR 2024 season comes to end this week as all 3 Series wrap up the championship at Phoenix. The Truck Series final 4 in the playoffs going for the championship are Corey Heim, Christian Eckes, Ty Majeski, and Grant Enfinger. The series had a 50 minute practice on Thursday night so we have some data and runs that the drivers made that will help us see who some of the best trucks will be. Phoenix is a flat style track so drivers that run well on those type of tracks are going to be popular picks this week as well.

Potential Dominators

Corey Heim

Ty Majeski

Christian Eckes

All 4 championship contenders were some of the fastest trucks in practice. Heim, Eckes, Majeski, and Enfinger were 1-2-3-4 on the 10 lap averages in practice. Heim was the fastest of the group and would be my pick for the championship. He has been the best truck all season and I think he can pull off the championship. The one concern is that he has been the worst of the 4 on flat style tracks of IRP and Richmond earlier this season. Majeski on the other hand is the best on short flat style tracks and he won at both IRP and Richmond this season. He had the best overall lap averages in practice and I expect him to be a top contender in the race as well. Eckes was right behind Heim on the 10 lap averages and ran 2nd to Majeski at the flat style tracks this season. I thonk it is going to be a great battle between these 3 all race and it will come down to the end for the championship. I expect these 3 to clearly have the 3 best trucks for the race. Enfinger is a solid option as well and I won't count him out, I just expect the other 3 to be better overall.

Place Differential Plays

Ben Rhodes

Rajah Caruth

Matt Crafton

Rhodes had top 5 speed in practice and has won his two championships ending with good runs here at Phoenix. He starts in 20th and with the speed he had in practice he should be able to move forward and be a great place differential play for the race. Caruth had good speed in practice as he was in the top 10 on 5 and 10 lap averages in practice. He finished close to the top 10 here last year and has some good runs on flat style tracks so I think he could have a good run tonight. He starts back in 19th so he has some place differential potential to move forward. Crafton starts outside the top 20 and is in on the same team as Majeski and Rhodes so he should have a solid setup to move forward. I would think he has top 10 upside for the race and should be a solid option this week.

Cheap Options

Stefan Parsons

Bayley Currey

Jake Garcia

Jack Wood

The teammates for Niece Motorsports of Parsons and Currey were solid in practice and have some solid runs on the short flat style tracks this season. They are in good equipment and have some good runs in the series so they are some of the safer options under the $7000 salary on Draftkings. Currey seemed happy with his truck on twitter after practice and I would expect both of them to run in the top 20 with upside for more. Currey starts in 18th so you may need a top 15 from him but Parsons starts back in 23rd so he has a little more room. Another week and another slate where Garcia has place differential and could be a good value play. He has let me down in recent weeks but he was 12th in 5 lap averages in practice. The hope is he can have a good run and have top 15 potential for the race. Wood had top 10 speed in practice so he could be in for a good run to end the season. The only problem is we have seen him have good speed in practice and not able to back it up in the race. Hopefully he can move forward and be a solid option for the race this week starting from the ____ position. Timmy Hill would be the cheap flier play this week I would use if I needed one.

As we go into the offseason for NASCAR, I will be taking a bit of a break but will do some NFL post periodically, as well as our usual UFC plays/bets weekly. But I will be working on some stuff in the offseason for next season to increase my NASCAR content even more.
