Truck Series Richmond DFS Picks

The Truck Series is back after the Olympic break and we are at the short flat style track of Richmond. We should see a lot of the same drivers that were good at the last race at IRP be good again this week at Richmond. Tire wear should be a key factor this week so there could be some strategy come into play on when drivers pit and use their last set of tires.

Potential Dominators

Ty Majeski

Grant Enfinger

Christian Eckes

Majeski is one of the top drivers on short tracks and he was dominate at IRP in the last Truck race. That should translate to Richmond and he is fast again this week with having the fastest 15 lap average in practice. Enfinger has run well on the short flat ovals and looked good in practice this week. He had the fastest 10 lap average in practice and should be a contender tonight. Eckes was not happy with his truck in practice but then went out and got the pole. He is a bit of a toss up but his speeds were still solid in practice and has a chance to lead early from the pole.

Place Differential

Connor Zilisch

Matt Crafton

Tanner Gray

Zilisch did not get a good qualifying run in as he starts back in 27th. He is in top equipment and I would expect him to move forward and have top 10 potential although he is pretty expensive on this slate. Crafton was has been good on short flat ovals and starts back in 17th. He should have some room to move forward and be a solid choice tonight. Gray is on the bubble for the playoffs and he did not help himself in qualifying starting back in 26th. He did have speed in lap averages in practice and should be a solid option to move forward and get place differential points tonight.

Cheap Options

Daniel Dye

Jake Garcia

Connor Hall

Dye is 5 points from making the playoffs so he is going to be doing everything he can to get points tonight. He had speed in practice and starts just outside the top 10. Garcia was happy with his truck in practice but did not get the best qualifying run. He finished 4th here last year and should have top 15 potential for the race tonight. This is the first career Truck race for Connor Hall but he had top 15 speed in practice and starts outside the top 20 unlike a lot of the good cheap drivers on this slate. He could be a solid option tonight.

High Risk-Low Owned Tournament Plays

Layne Riggs

Riggs has been good on short tracks with a great finish last week at IRP and he should have a chance to be that good again tonight. He starts up in 4th so he is going to need some dominator points and a top 5 finish but he should have a chance to do that.

Stewart Friesen

I don't mind Friesen tonight as a value play. He had top 10 lap averages in practice and I could see him running there tonight. He should be on the lower owned side as well.
