The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Bristol this week for racing on the high banked short track. There is likely to be close racing and short tempers as passing will be difficult and track position will be important on the half mile oval. There is likely to be a mix of some wrecks taking drivers out of the race and some longer green flag runs so staying on the lead lap is going to be crucial for drivers starting in the back.
Potential Dominators
Justin Allgaier
Kyle Larson
Connor Zilisch
Allgaier has been great this year with speed at most tracks the series has gone to early in the season. Allgaier is fantastic at Bristol and was one of the fastest in practice so I would expect him to be a top contender again this week.
We are in a similar situation to last night with Kyle Larson as he is priced very high again today at $14,000 on Draftkings. I think he will be better today and will have a better chance to be dominate, but it is still going to be difficult for him to hit value in this race, especially with so many place differential drivers. The biggest concern is someone like Allgaier taking a lot of the dominator points which will reduce the chance of Larson hitting value. But he is on pole and will be an option.
Zilisch was really happy with his car after practice even though his lap times didn’t stand out. He starts up front and I expect him to run up there with how he felt after the sessions today.
Place Differential Plays
Jesse Love
Sheldon Creed
Taylor Gray
Austin Hill
Christian Eckes
Justin Bonsignore
Love has been good at Bristol and starts in 13th so he has a little room to move forward.
Creed and his Haas team has a good history at Bristol but he qualified back in 21st. That gives him room to move forward and make a good amount of place differential potential.
Taylor Gray has been fast to start the season but hasn't got the finishes he has deserved. He is a good short track driver and had speed in practice so I expect him to run towards the front in the race today.
Hill starts farther back than some of the other top drivers in the series starting in 18th. He was solid in practice and should make his way towards the front and should run in the top 10 making him a solid place differential play.
Bonsignore is a bit of a risk having not much experience but he is in top equipment starting in 27th.
Cheap Options
Josh Williams
Anthony Alfredo
Ryan Ellis
Williams starts back in 26th and should have top 20 potential in the race.Alfredo has had some good runs at Bristol in the past and starts back in 29th. He has room to move forward and should be a solid option for place differential today. Ellis had solid speed in practice and I think he will run better than some of the other back markers today. He starts in 32nd so he has a lot of place differential potential with low 20s potential in the race.
