Xfinity Series COTA DFS Picks

NASCAR gets away from the drafting tracks this week but we still do not have a normal style track this week. The Xfinity Series heads to the Circuit of the Americas for the first road course race of the 2025 season. We have a lot of new drivers in the series this season and do not have the road course aces we did last season of SVG and Allmendinger as they moved up to the Cup Series. With COTA being such a large track, that means there are fewer laps so place differential and finishing position will be very important this week.

Potential Dominators

Connor Zilisch

That's it. Connor Zilisch is the best young road racer I've ever seen and he has been blazing fast on every road course he has been on in his young career in NASCAR. He again showed speed this weekend and he went out and got the pole in qualifying. With the fastest car/driver starting on pole, I don't see any driver getting around him early in the race. He should lead early and often unless he has some issue in the race. I expect him to lead the most laps and be the driver to beat this week for the race win.

If you really want to find another driver that has potential to lead the best other options are Ross Chastain and William Byron as they are coming down from the Cup Series to run this race. Both are in top equipment and should be running towards the front of the field, I am just not sure if they will have quite enough speed to beat Zilisch.

Place Differential Plays

Jesse Love

Austin Hill

Sheldon Creed

Nick Sanchez

Austin Green

Ryan Sieg

Love and Hill have been good racers in their career and I expect them to run towards the front throughout the race. They start 11th and 12th so they have some room to move forward and are great options to pair with Zilisch or anyone else you think will lead laps and contend for the win. Creed has been another good road racer in the Xfinity Series and starts back in 14th. I expect him to move forward and have top 5 potential for the race. Sanchez is a bit of a wildcard as he is in his first Xfinity race on a road course but he is in good equipment and starting back in 19th he has a good amount of upside as a place differential play for this race. Green is a good option that I expect to be a little lower owned than some of the other options this week. He was around a top 10 place driver last season on road courses and he is in the same situation this week. He starts in 20th giving him some room to move forward if he can run as good as he did last season. There is no where but to go up for Ryan Sieg as he starts dead last. Sieg is not the best road racer but if he can keep his car on the track and stay out of trouble he has a lot of place differential potential.

Cheap Options

Alex Labbe

Jeb Burton

Josh Bilicki

Jeremy Clements

Kris Wright

Labbe is one of the better road course specialist in the field this week and starts back in 27th. His equipment might be a little questionable but he has place differential potential to move forward and should have top 15-20 potential for the race. Burton and Bilicki are two other drivers that start in the high 20s and have some solid results on road courses. Bilicki is especially a good road racer and should have top 15 potential if he can get track position towards the end of the race. Clements has huge place differential potential starting back in 35th but he has won on a road course in the Xfinity Series before. If he can make it to the end without having any issues he should be a great place differential play this week. Kris Wright is a bit of a high risk wild card this week as he usually is not a great option on most tracks. However, he is a solid road racer in his career and is one of the cheapest options on Draftkings with a $5200 salary and starts back in 33rd.
