The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Darlington for racing on the high wear egg shaped oval in South Carolina this week. Drivers will be battling each other and the track this week as Darlington is one of the most difficult tracks in the series having to run right up against the wall for speed. We should get a couple of dominators again this week with 147 laps scheduled for the Xfinity drivers.
Potential Dominators
Christopher Bell
Justin Allgaier
Sam Mayer
Bell is in the Xfinity field this week as he was last year and won the race. He was fast in practice and is good at Darlington so he should be the favorite coming into the race today. I expect him to be a top threat to lead laps and will be hard to beat for the race win. Darlington is one of Allgaier's best tracks statistically and I would expect him to be fast again this weekend. He had good lap averages in his session in practice and he should be up front and be a top contender throughout the race today. Mayer is another that has been good at Darlington in his young career. He looked really good in practice and I think he can be a real contender this week for the win. His teammate Creed looked good in practice as well so we could see both Haas cars with a good run.
Place Differential Plays
Ross Chastain
Austin Hill
Josh Williams
Chastain is another on of the Cup drivers in the Xfinity field this week and is in a JR Motorsports car. He went out early in qualifying so he starts back in 27th and has a lot of room to move forward. He should have speed and move forward making him a good place differential option for the race. Hill had a lot of speed in practice but hit the wall pretty hard in qualifying and starts back in 19th. He may have to come from the back if they fix his car but he still will have a lot of place differential potential and should have a chance to battle up towards the top 5. Williams has had some solid runs at Darlington in the past and should finally be over his sickness that has held him back this season. The Kaulig cars looked good in practice and he should move forward from his 29th starting spot and be a good value play this weekend.
Cheap Options
Anthony Alfredo
Kyle Sieg
Brennan Poole
Alfredo has shown speed this season and he starts back in 32nd today giving him a lot of room to move forward. I would expect him to run top 25 with upside for more so he is a solid cheap option today. Sieg has had a solid start to the year with more speed and better runs than they did last season. He was solid in practice and starts back in 34th giving him a ton of place differential potential to gain in the race if he can stay out of trouble. Poole was happy with his car in practice but starts 23rd so he doesn't have a huge amount of place differential potential. However, he should have less of a chance of getting lapped early and should have top 15 upside for the race.
