Xfinity Series Daytona DFS Picks

The NASCAR Xfinity Series continues the start of the NASCAR season with their race on Saturday. We should expect the same type of strategy to use for DFS that we used in the truck race and that we will use all weekend. Place differential is king and building your lineups with the most upside of place differential is the most important factor. Drivers starting at the front are risky plays and this is a race where you do not need to worry about using up all your salary in your lineups.
Fades
Justin Allgaier
Taylor Gray
Christian Eckes
Austin Hill
William Sawalich
Sheldon Creed
Brandon Jones
Again with drivers starting up front that do not have much place differential potential, the better strategy to employ is to fade those drivers as much as possible. Laps led and fast laps are spread throughout the field so there is not much dominator potential for any driver in the race. I will be full fading the top 5 starters and will have very limited drivers that start in the top 10 for all the races this weekend. With qualifying being rained out that means a lot of the top teams will not have much place differential potential and are riskier picks for this race. I'll even be fading Austin Hill who has an incredible record on superspeedway drafting tracks, but with him starting 4th there just isn't enough upside for me to play him.
Top Place Differential Plays
Conor Zilisch
Sammy Smith
Ryan Sieg
Harrison Burton
Ryan Truex
Jeb Burton
Jordan Anderson
Matt Dibenedetto
Parker Retzlaff
These are the top place differential drivers for the Xfinity race as they start deeper in the field and should be racing towards the front and have a chance to contend at the end of the race as long as they keep their cars clean. Since qualifying was rained out and the lineup is set by last years owner points, we do not have a lot of top teams and drivers starting towards the back. Truex, Anderson, Dibenedetto, Burton, and Retzlaff are some drivers that start farther back that I expect to try to race to the front. Then drivers like Zilisch, Sammy Smith, and Ryan Sieg are guys that start a little closer to the front with some of the better teams in the field but still have some place differential upside.
Cheap Options
Anthony Alfredo
Leland Honeyman
Patrick Emerling
Caesar Bacarella
Josh Bilicki
Garrett Smithley
Joey Gase
In this Xfinity race there are more drivers that tend to ride in the back to try to miss the wrecks throughout the race. I expect drivers like Kyle Sieg, Blaine Perkins, Leland Honeyman, Patrick Emerling, Josh Bilicki, Ryan Ellis, Garrett Smithley and Joey Gase to be in that group of cars that will ride in the back and make sure that they don't get caught up in a wreck early. But with qualifying rained out some of those drivers don't start at the back and will have more limited upside than they usually do.
However, we still have Honeyman, Emerling, Bilicki, Smithley, and Gase who I expect will be more cautious and still have big place differential upside. These drivers would also have positive correlation with each other so using several of them could be a good strategy if you are expecting a wreckfest.
Tournament Plays
Sam Mayer
Carson Kvapil
Nick Sanchez
Justin Bonsignore
The drivers starting around the top 10 will have lower ownership in DFS contest because they don't have the huge place differential upside, but they still have a chance to score a lot of points if they finish around the top 3. This could help you differentiate lineups in large tournament contest. These drivers start in this range and are not some of the more known drivers so that could keep their ownership down. They are all in top cars and should be racing towards the front of the field making them solid options if they stay out of trouble and can battle for the win.
